From an early age, I found myself fascinated by the human mind. Struggling in school, I quickly learned how to read my classmates, figuring out who could help me keep up. That same curiosity about people’s inner worlds continued to grow, becoming a key element in shaping my artistic vision. My first major photographic project, capturing life along the Appalachian Trail, brought this to light. Initially hesitant to take portraits, I soon realized how much these images moved me, helping me see beyond the surface. It felt like an honor to capture someone’s likeness as I perceived them, each portrait becoming a glimpse into their unique story. Through my lens, I strive to portray individuals not just as they are, but as I see them—each image a reflection of the connection between my artistic journey and the deep curiosity that has fueled it. - NR
